I've been trying to use the forum search to see if there has been anything written about the Pentax 400-600mm lens. My search brings up many posts but none that mention that lens! Is there a secret to doing this please?

Thanks. I'm aware of that thread as I too found it using Google. But how does one get there using the site search engine to find it? Google might not have everything indexed so may have missed other references.

Did you try "reflex" as a keyword?

Lol. I didn't say it was particularly helpful

That's a thought, worth a try. What I did get some success with is just putting in: 400 600 and Match all terms. That did at least bring up the thread Google found. Perhaps that's all there is on here about it. Well I have one coming in the post so maybe there'll be another thread very soon!

Yes indeed, but can you pick up those same posts using the site's search?

Site searches rarely work. SKY can't even handle passwords properly..... They seem to lose mine every time I try to log on.

It took years for Firefox to handle two words or more and Amazon's is very poor.

I remember when the BT Phone directory was case sensitive and you could search the whole country for "john smith" and it would come back with no matches found

I don't think any of these companies think the internet is here to stay

Google is sometimes better using inverted commas such as this on the other forum..
Pentax "400-600mm" site:www.pentaxforums.com

Produces 154 results.

You're right about some site searches being poor. Thanks for pointing out using the quotes, I thought that might work on PU's (but it doesn't seem to.) The hyphen seems to throw the PU one as I see others have struggled with searches such as K-5 ! Maybe the search engine here needs a tweak to deal with this as hyphens are pretty common in camera and lens names.

Ha, yes! But how many are relevant to a search for that lens? It's a lot to search through to find them!

Sounds like it's found all the posts with the word SEARCH in them!
