Great idea! I have a fisheye adaptor, would that fit within the rules you have in mind? Otherwise, my widest is only 18mm!

Not sure if Mhuni will look in this thread now Beaky as he is judging, he may do until there are some competition entries.
Looks like he's set an upper limit of 18mm so providing you shoot at 18mm (so it shows in the exif) with or without the adapter fitted I can't see there being any arguments.
I think there should be some very interesting shots for this one.

Perhaps I will sit and think about it for ten days or so

Hi Prieni, I've been working away from home for the last week, just got home tonight
Wide angle eh !!!
Might give it a try, I've been using the FA 50 - f1:1.4 and the K f1:1.2 quite a lot recently, the 'fishy' has been pushed to the bottom of the bag
Time to dust it off, me thinks

I must say some of those photos are really clutching at 'straws', time you got 'plugged in' and 'switched on' to 'illuminate' the murky 'glass'. Perhaps you should steady yourself with a 'third foot' or walking stick to get a 'sharp' photo.
PS. Clean that viewfinder.
Post created with words taken from the objects I can recognise.
It is quite hard to tell what some of those things are.
Disclaimer: It is hard to tell in text only but I am not being nasty or critical.

I hadn't thought of an entry like Glyn's -- a closeup wide angle. Good one.
Thanks. I'm not sure it shows off the features of a wide lens. When I first got the 10-20 I had ambitions to use it for landscapes but I tended to get vast open empty foregrounds. However it has been good for buildings especially when you are limited in distance. It also makes our small rooms look huge I hadn't thought of an entry like Glyn's -- a closeup wide angle. Good one.
For the amaryllis I had to get very close and was right on the close-up focus limit for the lens (about 24cm):

It was nice to get in first but I'm sure we are going to see a lot more pictures that do a better job of showing off the attributes of a wide lens.

Hyram,
I have to say it. I love your entrie. What a terrific detail is captured in that worn out paint. And those intense blues. I simply love it.
It seems you had the perfect side lighting, at that moment.
Congrats on a great entrie.
Martin.

Many thanks Martin.
As I was taking it, I suddenly remembered your 'Decay in Blue' competition winner. I tried looking for it this evening but it appears to have disappeared :
I had intended taking a completely different shot last weekend but I was unwell so it did not happen.
I went to my boat today and wandered around the marina taking various images with the DA 10-17. Most would have been more appropriate for last fortnight's competition i.e. "what on earth is it" and some would have suited this week's 'Reflections' competition.
I have not used the DA 10-17 for a while and forgotten just how much ends up in the picture, such as the shadow of the photographer or the photographer's feet etc. etc.
