This is a small home-grown butternut squash that was harvested at the weekend, cut in half and shot today for this competition.
It has since been chopped up along with a couple of others, put into the freezer, and will get used as an ingredient for vegetable soup throughout the winter
Shot on 07/10/2009

Now Jay takes it in a particular way and he is seriously abstract in every way (read some of his comments) but show me your take on 'half and half'.
Don't be too led by his photos as I know abstract isn't everyone's choice so it doesn't need to be abstract. It could fruit cut in half whatever. But I think it needs to be half AND half so one half isn't enough although I don't think it necessarily needs to be two halves of the same thing.
Does that make sense? I hope non English first language members can follow the idea OK you usually seem to.
Looking for quality stuff here which I know you guys and ladies can deliver!
Any questions? I'll read the comments up to the first entry and then PM me if needs be.
I nearly forgot the simple rules.
Must be taken on or after 1st October 2009 and closes 6pm 14th October 2009.
Must be taken using Pentax camera or Samsung DSLR. Ideally with the EXIF info and the maximum for the longest edge is 800 px as I recall.
