Food Feature

I've been trying to use the "Food" Setting on an Optio S40 to take photos of food but the images are coming out blured. Has anybody else had any success with this. Is there another setting that I should be aware of?

If the pictures are blurred, either you are not focussing properly, or the shutter speed is too low and you are getting camera shake.

If focussing is to blame, either you are too close, or the camera is unable to find something to focus on. If the latter, try to put something with strongly contrasting tones in the centre of the picture.

If you are suffering from camera shake, either use more light, or get a tripod, or stand the camera on something firm when you press the shutter.

Experiment until you find out what works.

Thanks George. I have been experimenting but still struggling to get acceptable results.

I assume that the focus is working because the green brackets show up to let me know that it has focus - is that right?

Perhaps I am shaking but other photos seem to have been okay - I'll retry before drinking 15 cups of coffee
