Focusing with Pentax

When I used my M.E., I liked the split screen focusing and seemed to take my time on focusing. With the K10D, there is no split screen even though one can re-place it. Does anyone else seem to find manual foucusing more acurate?

I find manual focussing much more accurate.....but only with a split prism screen.

I don't have a split prism screen, just the regular matte one. In bright light I find MF to be pretty accurate but when the light dims I tend to switch back to AF (assuming I have an AF lens with me).

I made split screens for both my DS's. I find MF very accurate even when the light is low.
I know there are after market screens. But I'm a DIY type.

Go on..do tell. How did you make your own?

I prefer the split screen, but can't justify forking out for a Katzeye one and don't want to waste my money on a cheap ebay one.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

Thank you very much for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not yet have any distributors in the UK. We do ship to your country almost daily, but there will of course be the unavoidable duties and taxes associated with imports.
Our nearest distributors are in The Netherlands (www.foto-konijnenberg.nl) and Germany (www.photoproshop.com and www.nikon-fotografie.de/shop/index.php). Thanks again for your interest in Katz Eye Optics products and if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Best regards,

I made mine from ME Super screens. They are the brightest of the film cameras. And are the right thickness. I just watched ebay for cheap junkers.
Here is the blog post on my method.
