Focus selector switch broken off!!!

As the title says, the selector switch has broken off on my Samsung GX10....... Has anyone else had this happen? It, fortunatly, has come off with the AF in the position I use most, but I really don't know how it has happened, I picked the camera up from my desk, to go and take some shots in the garden, went to switch to manual focus and found the lever was not there?! So went back up to my office and it was sat on the desk near where my camera had been.

On studying the break it looks as if the plastic has snapped under tension, as if the screw had been done up too tight. Very annoying. Incidentally anyone know how long the warrenty is, if its 2 years I am OK, just if not then its probably an expensive repair bill........

If you bought it from a Pentax Pro Dealer then you'll have a two year warranty, otherwise it'll only be one year. Either way spare parts are still readily obtainable for a K10D so getting it fixed shouldn't be a problem, it'll just be a case of whether (and how much) you have to pay.

First time I've heard of one of these breaking to be honest so you've been rather unlucky!

Hi thanks for the reply, I had a quick look on line last night and found that Samsung warrant for 2 years on cameras, have found the sales note, how luck am I got it 10/08/07.

Guess I am off to leave it with my local dealer tomorrow, certainly makes the extra few £'s it cost me over getting it from an on line worth paying.
