focus problems on Optio S4

Sometime my OptioS4 has problems focusing. It will take a few shots them lose its ability to focus. I have to shut off and power on again then take pics.
The lens is clean, the camera has never been dropped. Only 5mnths old.

Has anyone experienced these problems?

Check that you haven't left it in one of the special focus modes (eg infinity, macro, MF, etc). Also check that it is not set to "self portrait" mode. With this mode I think it sets the focus for arms-length distance so that anything further away is out of focus.

Unless your S4 is faulty the only time it will struggle to focus is in very low light and/or with low contrast subjects. My Optio S4 has little trouble focussing in most circumstances and I am very happy with it.

Hmmm, I find that my S sometimes wanders off the focus also. The way I correct this is by giving the release button a quick 'press and release' just a tap without firing off a shot. This then brings the lens back into focus. I'm not advocating that this is the correct procedure but it works for me.........
