Focus Play

I have a couple of nice smooth broken-in Takumars with slight focus play that polarizes the aesthetic pleasure of using them. Can this be easily corrected by a technician?

It depends on what you mean by focus play and what is causing it. If you can be a bit more specific, I may be able to give a better answer. However, it may well be that the lenses just need a relube. There is a small amount of play in the focus helix and this is normally taken up by the grease used to lubricate it. However, if the helix is damaged and worn, then there is not much hope for an economic repair.
