Why no Pentax, show up one year then dont bother again for how long,
if your trying to make in roads on other makes,
why not have a show stand...

In the past few years, Focus has become less and less orientated to camera makers and more and more towards all the other aspects of photography. Printing, presentation, studio, clothing, etc. I seem to remember other marques disappearing for a year here and there.

We'll have to wait and see if Pentax decide to join in, but it would be a good opportunity to handle new lenses.
Best regards, John

Could be that Ricoh Pentax have only maybe pencilled in a stand at CeBIT, Hannover where they will exhibit their full product portfolio, which will include medical equipment too. It's years since I done the CeBIT, so I hope none of our customers are exhibiting!! I'm getting too old to drive a 7.5 tonner across to Germany, and help set up the stands!!

This may seem a strange question, is this worth going to? What would I expect to find there? Is it just companys with latest products or is ther anything else.

Is it a good place for bargains

I can't give punkrockemo a definite Yes or No....

I've only been once and thoroughly enjoyed the day, although the Pentax stand was definately the highlight for me - There are usually some "show day" bargains, I nearly bought a Canon A3 printer for quite a bit less than I could find it anywhere else and there were some good prices on LowePro AW bags. One Camera Shop stand (I think it may have been Park Cameras?) almost opposite the Pentax stand did have some good deals on Pentax stuff.

I liked the breadth of products on show (as johnriley mentioned) and there are usually a few demos and product talks which can be quite interesting. I haven't looked at the Focus web site in any depth yet, but the year I went I was able to plan which demos I wanted to see in advance
