Focus on Imaging 2006

Hi,

I've seen this mentioned a couple of times, including here... and thought this link would be handy..

I think I'll hopefully get the chance to go, it being only a couple of hours up the M40 for me.. who else is going and when? Perhaps we can gather over a coffee and put a face to the names. Just a thought..

We did this once with a group of us from the BBC science forum, and visited the Dinobirds exhibition at the Science Museum in London.

Jolly good fun it was as well.

Regardless of Focus, I did have it in mind that we should have a "get-together" at some point, maybe in the summer. I'm thinking about what sort of event that could be, but it seems a good idea in principle.

Sue and myself, Paul Jones and Des Barr all arrived at the NEC around 10am this morning.

First stop was to say hello to Pete Bargh at the impressive ePHOTOzine/Pentax User stand and then we started the long slog around the exhibition.

The camera manufacturers were fairly low key, but it was nice to see Pentax there, starting to be a bit more of a presence. Despite the fact that they couldn't show me either the 12-24mm or 16-45mm lenses! Ah, well, early days...

The bulk of the exhibition was based around printing, professional services, flash systems, digital processing, etc., and was 90% digital at least.

As all exhibitions, it took its toll on our feet, but we had a great day, and next year I have no doubt we'll be back for more.

So definitely worth the visit then John,

I'm currently googling for a local dentist to visit first thing, and I now know lots about abscesses via google as well. :AARRRRGGGHHH:

Hopefully I can get that sorted out nice and early.. Birmingham's about 2 hours drive from here, so crossed fingers. And I'll definitely stop by the Pentax User stand.

Right, off for some primary dental pain relief.. John Smith's smooth.. If I'm put on antibiotics, I'll have to enjoy it while I can. Can you tell that this is somewhat at the forefront of my thoughts at the moment.
