Provided it fits in your carry-on it is allowed.
Make sure your camera has a charged battery, as well as all the other electronic gear you may be taking. The new security rules now apply to all flights, not just those to the US.

Yes - they are making a big to-do about the new restrictions on electrical gear . Remember you can be asked to demonstrate that everything can be switched on - this is cameras , phones , tablets etc etc
If it doesn't switch on - you may not be able to fly !!

I was recently asked to unpack my hand luggage and had to demo how my table-top tripod worked as apparently it looked a bit suspicious on the x-ray. No problem though once they saw what it was.

If you can't switch the tripod on it will have to be confiscated...

Just had a trip to the USA, security were asking how long I had owned my cameras and had they been for repair in the last 6 months. As both items I had with me were over 1 year old and had not been sent away they were happy for me to take them on board.

Flying to Austria on Saturday for annual yomping in the Alps. My 'big' tripod will be in my checked in holdall. I also take a small Manfrotto mini table top tripod. Will this be allowed in my carry-on bag?
