Good detail Don.

It may be this: Calliphora stygia is a large brown blowfly that is common and annoying in houses, and features regularly in insecticide commercials.

Date on Aussie flies from here: https://australianmuseum.net.au/learn/science/decomposition-corpse-fauna/#Flies

Don
I am pretty certain that it is a Rhingia campestris hoverfly. The long rostrum is used to allow the probiscus to penetrate deep into flowers. If you send a copy of the image to the Royal Entomological Society via https://www.royensoc.co.uk/identifying-insects they should be able to give you a definitive ident

Very detailed images, whatever it might be.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Surprising colours in these - I generally think of flies as black annoyances flying around
