I was using. RAW+ but switching to JPG makes no difference.

resolved - have to switch composition adjustment off, a feature i use a lot. a pity that there were no instructions of value. If this was for a point and shoot camera then fine but the K3 asks to be customised to make the best use of the facilities

You will not see the image if you take it as a raw file, switch to JPEG and it'll work.
