Flickr Trends

There's an ADAPS Flikr page that is hardly used, but a Facebook one that's buzzing.

There's PU and EPZ on both, but I only really use Facebook. It's quite handy for all sorts of purposes and I find it more user-friendly, if a bit apt to suddenly change things just as we were getting to like them...

I use Flickr but as for lists I ignore them I like to think I make my own mind up and am happy to be a Pentax man through and through

What the rest do is up to them I guess

I posted a few holiday photos to flickr sometime last year (taken in Chania, Crete). Recently I have found it impossible to log on to my account. Any guesses why? Have I been shut out because I log on so seldom? I have always disliked having to go through Yahoo, and I don't use facebook or twitter so I can't log on through that route.

I have started putting my landscape images onto the Geograph site. It works reliably in spite of the huge number of uploads (in the region of one thousand per day at present). As Geograph is supported by our Ordnance Survey, it is free of adverts and unnecessary hassle.

So the fact that Pentax sell less cameras is partly down to the customer failing in their role as consumers.

and people who buy a Canon or Nikon haven't done any research.

This certainly explains how I and, I suspect, at least a few other Pentaxians ended up with Pentax. When I bought my first DSLR, I did some research and deliberately set out to avoid Canon and Nikon so as not to follow the herd. I had planned to buy an Olympus, but was really impressed by the ergonomics of the K-m which, coupled with the larger sensor and a deal that involved a free lens swayed me to Pentax and I haven't looked back.

I didn't do any research when I bought my first Pentax DSLR. Bought from Asda Pentax K100d for £225 with lens if I remember. I bought purely on price as a tool to complete my Photography studies.

I guess a lot of people are lured to Canikon as they have heard of it on tv or other form of advertsing. Much the same way the same people would ignore Pentax, Olympus or even Sony due to a lack of marketing.

It always amazes me on this forum how some members berate people for buying other than Pentax or call other brands marketing teams for exploiting their position with photography store staff etc... There seems to be this constant underlying feeling of regret in buying Pentax.

The same goes when pentax users call photography store staff for not pushing Pentax, they all have their own agenda get over it..

I have no regret & enjoy using my Pentax gear.

I'm with you all the way- I think my K5 is great but I dont think that someone who owns a D7000 or 60D has not done any research or has somehow been hoodwinked.
