flashgun?

Sometimes the photographic road is rocky, so the ride will not be gentle. I think it would help people if you told us what you want to do with a flashgun in terms of photography. Some questions you could ask yourself and find out about are below.
Will i only use my flash on the camera?
As my skills develop will I want to use the flash off camera?
Will I need to use light modifiers in the future, such as umbrella, softbox,
Will I be using the flash only for portraits?
What other things could I use flash for?
Will I buy another flash in the future?
What features do I need from a flash?
Flash modes PTTL, Manual or HSS?
OK, that's covered some rocky ground. I personally have never used Pentax branded Flashguns, I have however used Metz which I think are great in terms of what you get for the price. The models I use are the Mecablitz 58 AF-2, does everything but not cheap and the Mecablitz 50 AF-1 a great flash with a lot of features, in my opinion best flash for the price.

I rarely need flash since having Pentax DSLR's as its low light capability is so good. I use the built in flash turned down by two stops when I want a bit of fill in.
I have the Sigma EF 610 DG I picked up for £99 which has a built in flash reflector for close up portraits, a low power 7 degrees tilt down for close ups, a wide zoom fresnel pop down, turns all directions and has full Pentax TTL. Only two manual power options and if you want faster than 1/180th a second you'll need the posher model.
I also have an off camera TTL lead and a flash bar/grip for about £7 each from 7 Day Shop
