Flash trigger voltages

I'm interested in an old 3rd party flash unit and I was wondering if you guys know if there a guide to the safe voltage that the K10D can cope with on an external flash unit?

I found this website very useful and I'm guessing there is probably a safe guide voltage for the K10d aswell.

I emailed Pentax for this info and was told that the digital cameras were capable of handling voltages up to 30v, but if you need peace of mind email them again as I was asking about the ist DS2. I use an old metz 45ct1. Be aware that early models of this flash have voltages of 250+ but later models are modified and rate at around 7v, luckily mine was OK.

I too have been trying to find similar information and have looked at the web site mentioned, however I am undecided as to what to do. My thread - https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4571 gives further insight into the problem and useful comments from one of this forum's experts.

There are lots of other postings in a similar vein in the "Flash Photography" section from which you may garner other more relevant data. Of course you may already have looked at it!!

That's great. The flash I'm interested in is only 5v on the chart so I think given the info it will be fine.
