Flash on the K30

Hello all

Have had my K30 a few weeks now and have been really happy with it. I have used it with some off camera flash using wireless triggers but put my Jessops dedicated pentax flash on camera today and got some very strange results.

When I was trying to us it in AV mode when it focused the flash just started flashing uncontrollably until I turned it off.

When I switched to Manual it flashed at the right time but then kept flashing in an uncontrolled manner as before.

Flash has been used many times before with my GX-10 any advice anyone?

thanks in advance

Paul

I just tried my Metz flas that i had been using on my K-X on my K30 to see if i suffered a similar problem but I did not experience any problems.

Can you update the firmware for your flash?

Sorry that not much help

No problems with my AF-360. Can you borrow another flash to try to narrow down the problem to the camera or flash. My money would be on the flash. It's certainly worth checking for a firmware update for the flash. No other ideas, I'm afraid.

Good luck.

Thanks for the responses everyone, the flash is still working fine on my GX-10, I might try and video what happens when I use it as it is dificult to describe.

Next question - cheap (less then £50) alternative anyone?

Yongnuo flashes look the best bet if you want manual control.
