Flash in OptioS50

Hi,

I recently bought a Pentax Optio S50. Though the fotos i get are good at times the images appears dark eventhough the flash has fired. Why is that. Is it because I am far away from the sunject. I took an group photo with some of my colleugues from my company. Some fotos have appeared simply too dark.

What are the probable reasons.? is there anyone who can guide me on this and How to Avoid the same.

The flash on small cameras is not very powerful - make sure you are within the flash range, especially for groups of people. If you can change the ISO setting you might up that, which would extend the flash range, but I don't know if you can do that on your camera.
