flash connection problem

Ken,
How about one of these for the Wein,
or even a Hama slave (which is what I use when I'm not using the AF360 & AF540 pair... which isn't often TBH)
EDIT: Ooops! The first one isn't the right way round But there are others that add PC connection to the flash via the hotshoe.

But there's the 4P connector - which is a hotshoe-to-flash lead
(I had one with my Pentax grip... but it doesn't get used!)

Thinking laterally, if you take 2 x hot shoe adapters having female synch sockets and stack them together (not on camera), that would give you a female to female connector, albeit a very large one.
You'd then need 2 x male to female (extension) leads to join the Wein and the flash electrically.

I just re-read the post... unless I'm being completely thick (which is possible), that still isn't what I meant
I have a short 4P coiled cable with a hotshoe on one end, and the 4P plug on the other. I suspect it's the same as between the hammer head and camera (that would mount only a little way away).
With the short cable, you could connect into the Hama slave cube and not have any trailing wires.
Was that what you needed?

take two female cables, cut the connectors, a bit of heat shrink tubing and solder. problem solved.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Matt, Peter and Don all great ideas! Thanks.
Matt, I swear my undying love to you. I knew there was a relatively simple solution I couldn't see.
I'll be back to Calumet in the morning and swap the Wein slave for a hotshoe one. The idea of something the size of well, a peanut, plugged directly into the flash was an attractive one but not to be.
Do you realise what you have started? I can now use my 5P flashes as well.

It works! I'll post a photo of the combination later in the week.

I want to use one of them as a background light on a backlight stand which isn't something I normally do. I got a Wein Peanut Slave from Calumet this morning but discovered both it and the Pentax flash have male connectors and no one in the UK, it seems, sells a female to female sync lead or adapter.
My plan had been to fire one of the studio heads wirelessly (radio) and everything else would fire optically. Now, I can work around this and fire the AF400T using a 4P to hotshoe 5 metre cable but that means running a cable around/under the sitter. A step back in time to say the least.
I cant help thinking I've missed something glaringly obvious. Any ideas?
