This is Fistral beach in Newquay. Not sure how this can be improved. I have now been asked to do a portfolio of my image's. Where can I get one from please, and what's the best one?

I like it, some nice colours . IMHO I'd prefer a bit more foreground or on the other hand maybe see the shot in landscape , one small thing if you can correct the slant of the horizon... When you say portfolio do you mean hard copy ie prints in a"portfolio" or in a digital format ie disc ,card ,or usb stick ?
If it's the former then you can buy a portfolio from an art shop or stationers they come all sizes from A4 upwards.
hope this helps ..jeff...

You say you've been asked to do a portfolio. Who? Why? This might decide the format.

You might want a photo book? On-line service where you upload your shots, they print your shots in a book and return it to you.

Or, as Jeff says, an empty hard copy from a supplier where presumably you'll print off your work and add it.

Am impressive scene, well caught - I like the boldness of planting the sun smack in the middle, works great. Exposure is good also - maybe tone down the sky brightness a bit, and boost contrast to give the clouds more definition.

The image suffers from some pretty hefty colour noise, seen as yellow & blue patches mainly on the sand and waves. Eliminating it will inevitably lose some sharpness, but with the right software you should be able to restore a fair amount of detail.

I use Photoshop Elements with the Topaz DeNoise plugin (Topaz Labs) - you can select an area first for working on and then run the plugin, reducing noise just where it needs it. It has sliders to restore detail and reduce blur also after reducing the noise.

Alternatively, if you shot in RAW then look for colour noise reduction in your RAW converter software.

Hi thanks for your replies, this picture isn't bad for an amater. I might go to an arts shop and get a folder.

College because they said I had to have something to show.

I am a bit wonky because I am disabled with curvature of the spine, but I will correct the horizon

No 1 for me, I prefer the closer perspective and foreground details.

I like them both. After looking at your FB page (very imaginative ideas) I'am veering towards No 1, because it's more in keeping with your usual (developing) style.

Conventional wisdom says that for landscapes you either have 2/3rds land or sky predominating in landscapes (or something like that). Is that slanting horizon the way you view the world? Is it part of a statement your making about yourself as the observer of the event.

I love the airshow shots, particularly the Lancaster superimposed (i presume) against the stars. Needs a stronger title though IMHO. Great stuff keep on keeping on.
As for me, all I know is that I know nothing.

Hi yes the air show pictures, some of them had royalty free backgrounds. How did you find my Facebook page please? Will be adding recent pictures to it
