First shots with K10, what do you think?

Posted these elsewhwere, but it was not obvious as to where they were!!

These are amongst the 1st shots taken with my new K10D, and I'm totally new to this photography lark, so all criticism very welcome, no matter how harsh, gotta learn somehow!

Please let me know what you think!

For first shots - I find them pretty good.

Not sure about the scenes, but overall you show some skills to pick out decent ones.

I like the mill shot the most. Nicely executed.

The lake shoot your sky is a bit blown out - might need to play with the aperture...

Keep them coming - and welcome to the forum.

I also especially like the Mill shot, Brill Windmill makes a great subject doesn't it?

You have a good photographic eye. Whit this, and your new baby (K10D) you have the 95% for the photographic success in hands. The other 5% is dedication and perseverance (perhaps the most difficult)…

I like your images, but for critics and comments it is preferable upload one or two by time, and if possible in a size of 800/1000 pixels wide. For do an honest critique is necessary time.

I am sure you will find in this forum the best for guide you whit the left over 5%...

I agree.. definitely have the eye for it. If I were to critique anything about the two landscapes, it would be that the sky has blown out. ie. it's plain white where it's over-exposed. Have a read of this article, it may help for next time.

I generally use multi metering rather than spot for landscapes, and -0.5 underexpose just for safety, if that helps.

...and if it's a flat, dull, featureless sky, it's often worth excluding it from your pic altogether if you can.

My 'photographic' eye probably comes from filming weddings in my teens, always on the look out for unusual shots!

Got a sneaky feeling that the extra 5% mentioned is really going to be the hard part!
