Hi Eric,
it's a nice simple clean shot.. just one thing though, it might be an idea just to take a small paintbrush to the shoot beforehand, and just brush away any little bits of dirt/compost. The lump (I know it's probably <0.1mm) in the middle is a little distracting.. a minor point only though.

The tonal quality of the green is nice, but I think you have had a problem deciding where to focus. Nowhere except a far part of one leaf is really sharp.
For these sirt od shots you need very careful focusing and a small aperture to maximise depth of field. I would have used f16 for this shot. (Not f22 as quality will drop off at f22)

Or perhaps to have focused on the tip of the nearest leaf, but using the same aperture that you did. Depends on what sort of effect you're after really.

Think I used f5.6 & had a problem using manual focus, think my eyesight is going.

This is my first picture post (hope it comes out ok), taken with Pentax M 50mm & extension tubes on my K10d.
Marigold shoot/seedling, no p&p just resized for web.
Opinions gratefully received.
