Firefox update and colour management settings

For anyone using Firefox browser with a wide gamut screen, the latest Firefox update v113.0 has caused problems with colour management. Not only will the default settings show over-saturated colours on web page objects (banners etc), but photos will be over-saturated too as the tagged profile is not being applied.

From the Mozzilla help forums, I have discovered settings which appear to fix it, although I do not generally like changing settings without knowing exactly what they do. Settings are below.

Appreciate the heads-up pschlute. Thanks. I had been wondering...
Be well, stay safe, but most of all, invest in memories

Thanks for the headsup - and (from a relative Firefox tyro) how/where do can those settings be found?
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

In a browser address bar type: about:config then accept the warning type gfx.color and you will find them.

Close browser and open again

Many thanks and now found that and changed the line you highlighted to "false"

However, in my FF setup, the line “gfx.color_managment.mode” (i.e. the line above the one you highlighted) shows a setting of "2" instead of the "1" shown in your screen clip.

Is the difference significant, and if so should I change mine to "1"?

My understanding has always been that 1 applies colour management to all items (images and graphics), whearas 2 only applies it to tagged images.

Thanks and that makes some sense as my FF was (accidently!) reinstalled a couple of weeks ago and I have not tweaked it much since then - therefore if "2" is the default setting then that is almost certainly what would have been set by that re-installation.

OTOH, if that is the situation, then I'll ponder as to whether it is the "best" one for me, or whether I should change it to "1"???

PS: my monitors are pretty basic 20" & 22" ones and quite old - so not modern "high spec" ones.

Firefox have fixed this with v113.0.1

It sets the gfx.color_management.native_srgb to false as default now.
