File opening issue

You must have the camera set to record images as RAW + JPEG. If it only happens sometimes, then perhaps you are nudging the button that does a one-odd RAW capture. Your RAW setting must be DNG.

Thanks John, I'll make a note of that and see what happens

It was because I have x2 memory cards in the camera, and because I'm only using one usb port, the computer chooses randomly which card to read, so sometimes it will pick up the card with all the RAW files on, then another time with the JPEGS, bit of a pain in the backside, I'll have to figure out a way around it

Use a card reader, instead of connecting the camera directly to the PC. Then you should see both the jpegs and the RAW files and can choose what you want to view.
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

OR! If you must connect the camera to the 'puter the take one card out first then it can only read the one that's left. "SIMPLES" CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

When I plug my K-3 into the pc and the window pops up, sometimes it shows the files as DNG and sometimes they are shown as JPEGs
Has anyone else had this issue, or know why it may be happening?
Thanks,
Sarah
