I use Integral Ultra Class 10s 16Gb . Work fine.
I think the bottle neck with the K-5 is the speed of it's own processing and cache size. It could indeed be a lot better

Thanks for that. At the moment I'm getting 4 to 5 seconds of the hourglass just to write a high quality jpeg. Doesn't seem right.I use Integral Ultra Class 10s 16Gb . Work fine.

Another vote for the integral Ultra class 10. I havnt got a K5. But they are the quickest cards Ive used in my K7.

For the cost I don't think you can beat the San disk ultra 45mb/s I have the integral and it was alright, I just prefer the reliability of the sandisk...

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, it does sound like in-camera processing. But what can it be up to? I do have in-camera lens correction selected. Maybe I should turn that off and do it on the computer.
Any idea why a San Disk Extreme XC-1 64 GB wouldn't work in the K5?

Can't see why not,mod yo have latest firmware?
Lens correction will cause the writing delay as it has to perform the processing before it can write the file...

Thanks, yes I had already downloaded the latest firmware. I just tried shooting in RAW, but with the lens correction and chromatic aberration correction turned off, and that speeded things up a lot. Can't see why not,mod yo have latest firmware?

Yes I've had a few integrals and have lost images on most of them. I still have one in my bag now, but rarely use it.

I have always gone for San Disk cards, from the days of CF - always been reliable and always been able to recover images and video when accidently deleted!
I think the camera can only handle up to 32GB cards though.
Just a note, though I am not a burst photo freek, I havn't noticed any different in performance from my Class 6 to Class 10 cards in the camera.

Used to use Sandisks... but have had 3 physically crack and die
Now I'm on the Samsung Extreme SDHC cards. Very, very tough
(Waterproof, shockproof, crushproof etc).
Oh, and a silly price from Amazon too!

I recently bought a San Disk Extreme XC-1 64 GB card for my K5, but the camera rejected it(luckily my Fuji X10 loves it). Do any of you have a list of compatible cards for the K5? The faster the better, as it's writing quite slowly to my Fuji 32 GB HC.
