Im definitely going to get the 300 when i can find a good copy or there is some kind of deal around. Why do the second hand ones fetch soo much money!
Because it's a great lens! Supply and demand.........Thanks all

Hi Richard,
I have all three, the 200 and 300 are remarkable and despite some mixed comments the results from the big zoom are also pretty much as good as it gets for a zoom.
The 300 is just stunning as far as IQ is concerned but so is the 200; and what the extra 100mm gives you on the 300 for wild life etc is offset by the faster 200 which I use for indoor events .Frankly regarding iQ , under same conditions and set up; I can't see any difference between the two myself.
For the record, I still think the DA* 50-135 is the best zoom I have ever owned as far as IQ goes.
I am very happy with all DA* lenses.
Regards

Im currently using a 55-300 which i like but fancy something a bit faster for the longer shots.
There seems to be a lot of love for the da*300, what about the 200 and the 60-250? Would i do just as well with the 200 and cropping? I find most of the time im not at the longest end when i use the 55-300.
Is the da*300 worth the expense / is it a decent step up in performance.
(im still on the k7. i may get the k3 at some point, if not just for the much better iso performance)
