Fake IR

C&C please

Took this with a K7 and after I read about faking IR pics in photoshop I thought I'd have a try. I think it looks spooky.

Looks spooky indeed. But IMHO picture makes me feel like left side "sinking down"; vertical lines close to left edge seems ok but right side lean to the left. Know that is difficult in places like this (seems that castle is on slope of hill). And think that could be better if sign (or whatever it is) will be cloned out....

Spooky indeed and it does IR. I feel the whole thing needs a little more space at the edges of the frame, it is too tightly cropped. If the castle had a little more room it would improve things I think.

The castle isn't far from where I live so will be visiting again.

The sign which says "No Climbing" has been carefully placed to spoil photos Must remember to watch out for things like that.

Will move my position round a bit next time and see if I can get a better aspect, the wall on the right does look odd.

Agree with Japers that the castle seems a bit cramped stuck out on the extreme left of the composition. The IR effect is great though! I will be trying that myself.

The shot benefits from a post-resizing unsharp-mask, IMO. Resizing images always degrades sharpness, which then needs to be restored when viewed on screen at 1:1.

Thanks for the advise. I like the IR for a couple of reasons, having trouble with colours looking "right" blue too blue etc and it gets rid if the CA, I don't think Warkworth Castle had purple window frames

I'm putting photos on photobucket what should I resize them to first?
Probably need to ask a lot more questions, still reading the manual for the camera on top of ps7

800 pixels long is a good size for this sort of forum thread - if much larger, the forum software will automatically resize it to fit the thread.
