I've got the 16-45 and it's one of the best lenses in the stable, as far as I can tell. It goes well with an old 45-125 (which serves the same function as an 80-200 on a full-frame camera) and gives me excellent range for the *st D.
Ok, now you got me confused which shows I've not really been paying attention to the techie things in life. What do you mean by:

And, what's with this "DA"; what's full-frame and NOT full frame - would someone please explain in simple terms.

The 45-125 gives a range of angle of view on the digital cameras which is similar to the popular 80-200 lenses that were used on 35mm full frame film cameras.

I beleive the DA designation means the lens is designed specifically for the smaller APS-C sensor, which means it won't cover the full frame on a 35mm camera.

To be percisely accurate, the 45-125 will be the so-called "equavilent" of 67.5-187.5, if you want to be really picky.
