f2.8 Weekend

Hello all. Bit of a mixed bag weather-wise here this weekend for the Bank Holiday, however I managed to get out and about with the camera a bit (as well as having a barbecue in the rain:shock. I noticed that I have taken a disproportionate number of pictures at f2.8 this weekend and here's a handful...

I was a bit gutted to have forgotten to change the aperture to something smaller when I snapped this bee, but actually I'm quite happy with it...

...and a white one too (slightly dreamier)



Not sure why I took so many pics at f2.8 - probably a combination of poorish light and trying to play with DOF... Whatever the reason, I hope you like these - any C&C welcomed as usual

Well I think they are really cool loving the dremy backgrounds

The last shot and the bee shot do it for me. The bee shot because the detail and quality of the shot is fantastic. The last shot because it has a wonderful dreamy aspect to it, and I personally love these kinds of images where the subject being photohraphed isn't the main focus of the shot but more the colours and mood being created by it.

Very nice set indeed, agree with all comments so far, also the bee shot is my favourite.

Well done Mat - the first is good for me, as are the last two. It's an effective crop for the red flower, the dreamy look is right on for the last, and the 'ear' is something a bit different - it has a farm 'feel', rather than a garden one. Some great bokeh in evidence here - was it a variety of lenses?

Thanks for the comments everyone - much appreciated. i-Berg there were three lenses used in this lot... first three were DA* 50-135, the bee was DFA 100 and the final two were the DA 35 ltd.
