If I had a pound for every profanity I have heaped upon myself I'd be rich, not so much so for things external to me. One notable exception is car park pay machines that won't work properly (also usually my fault - or so Mrs Wozhere tells me).
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

After acquiring a lifetime's evidence for the truth of Murphy's Law (i.e. if anything can go wrong, it will), my starting point is that something probably will go wrong so just be pleased if it doesn't. So even when some kit doesn't work, the bug or bird moves just as the shutter button is pressed, the battery dies at a crucial moment, a fine day turns wet and miserable or I've been incredibly stupid, I'm always content and at peace with myself and the world. Well, perhaps not always...

To be honest, most are due to my operator error.

A few years back I drove all the way from Edinburgh to the RSPB site just north of Aviemore, and it was only when first turning on the camera I found that I'd forgotten to bring a memory card.

My pet peeve is when the Af bunces about on what looks a routine shot, ad the subject flies/runs away before the AF gets its act together.

AF issues would be my single biggest peeve with a dslr, and would be the main reason I’d consider mirrorless. The number of times my subject is front or back focussed and has ruined my shot. Eye AF would be especially handy with the sensor seeing the actual lens focus and adjusting instead of needing calibration definitely appeals.

Other than that Pentax has almost never let me down other than the k-30 aperture failure. The k-3 has ample configuration to control the auto features such as preferring a faster shutter speed in Av or TAv modes etc.
