Hi Martin,bet your your glad your not a mouse!If it were my pic i would crop a bit of the the top,the light bits detract a bit from the intensity of those piercing eyes.Also weirdly,i see more detail in the face if i look at my screen from a 45% angle!!. Tony.

So you have both. dog and a cat ? I imagine how the cat stares at the dog And I guess you never have mice
Its good pic but I still started to look for cropping possibilities. I couldnt find sth that would be much better. But I quite believe the pic could be improved a bit. (Just my skills are in limit)
Maybe this cropping from above isnt too bad idea at all.
Edit. I tried, I like it a bit cropped.

Thanks all for the comments and showed interest.
Actually the picture is sharper. But I decided to soften the black areas.
It was.......to in my opinion to sharp and dragged away attention from the eyes.
Cropping in this case is no option for me. I am a "rule of thirds" kind of guy (I know.....Old school:lol, and by cropping a bit from the top,
I feel the picture gets unbalanced. Its seasoning to taste, of course.
