External flash question for k100d

can anyone tell me if the Vivtar 283 Flashgun will work on the k100d without doing any damage?

100% certian my 283's havent fried my ds2 or k10...hope that helps.

A word of caution, we measured two 283s and they had widely different voltages - one was nearly 300V and one was under 20V.
