Thanks for that Don, very intersting. I have all the gear, including the punch tool for attaching the connectors, so I will give it a try.

let me know how it works.... I'd use heat shrink wrap instead of tape to re-inforce that cat 5 jack
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I thought of that myself, I have a bunch of various sized shrinky tubes and then put a larger one over the top to clean it all up.

Well here it is Don, and I can say it works fine. I tried it with a 5mtr long cable and it doesn't appear to have any adverse effects on the timing or controls of the flash,
If you are going to make this modification make sure you have a multi meter so you can check that all the wiring is in the right order before trying it on your camera and flash.

I can vouch for heat-shrink cable wrap. These guys can supply anything you might need and even print your name on it too! Heat shrink sleeving

Well Clarky, you and Matt need to team up on a deal, Matt's flash Manual and a Clarky Cable mod for the low price of.....$$$$$$$
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Thanks guys It turned out I didn't need to shrink wrap it. The Cat5 jacks I have come with a nifty back cover that locks all the wires in place.

Let me know if you want any further info, Its a very easy mod though if you have the right gear.

Don, you could get your robot to make one
