Goldcrest is superb - and the rest are amazing too. You'd make a good salesman for the 500mm !
Were these taken from a hide - or in open woodland. If the latter, I wonder how transportable you find the Sigma?

All these were shot in open woodland/public parks just wandering round looking.Goldcrest is superb - and the rest are amazing too. You'd make a good salesman for the 500mm !

I always use a Gitzo tripod and a Benro GH-2 Gimbal head and Sigma EF-610 DG Super flash/Beamer and a cable release and momentarily let go of the camera when I take a shot to minimise movement/shake.I have a Gitzo tripod strap which is useful for taking the weight off my arms on long walks.
I wouldn't say the set up is light set up but I walk miles with it no problem so I think you get used to it.
I also take a few shots handheld from a car when driving round local countryside.

That is a superb set bassman, varied at technically spot on.
Struggling for a favourite really which is telling, maybe the Leucistic Blackbird or the Pied Wagtail
Keep up the strong work!
