Help

My trusted Pentax Espio 928 shows an error code H1 and H2. The lens housing won't retract and the film won't rewind. I have changed the battery but it hasn't helped.

Would appreciate some suggestions.

Roj,

Error codes are listed Here! under the FAQ section of the main website.

It's a shutter related fault

Same problem happened to my 928 at the weekend H1 H2 error codes. This is my second Espio the first one, a W, flashed up an HL error code.
Does anyone know how much it will cost to repair?

Hi,
The Pentax UK site gives a guide price of £50 for a "standard" repair for the zoom compacts including the 928. This would include a repair for error codes. If it were me, I would have a look on eBay for whats on offer. A short while ago I got an "as new" 120Mi for £20. This was lucky and they normally go for £30- £45. Some go for more but if you are patient, you could get a better camera for about half the cost of a repair. Certainly the 928 and similiar seem to go for less. A 928 sold last week for £14.99 and there is one on offer starting at £14.99 here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3334&item=38135...

At these prices, I wouldn't consider a repair.

Regards
Kim

This cost me 200 kuai- that's about £16 - in China... needs a part replacing inside- a ribbon and whatever that moves as the zoom moves in and out.

This is the second Pentax zoom 90 IQ that I have had that had H 2 and or H3 errors. It has cost too much for the nature and frequency of the problem and Pentax should own up to a faulty design and repair all failures at no cost.
