Just had a look at link and link.

Lets prove it all wrong in 2014.

Hello Ricoh, are you listening?

Best regards

Predicting the future is a tricky business. It could all be turned on its head by other as yet unforeseen factors.

In the meantime, all companies will be doing their best to survive.

A quote from Japan Times
"To counter the growing presence of smartphones, Japanese makers have tried adding more functions and value to their products, such as wireless data transfer, larger image sensors, more stylish designs and high-quality body textures"

I think a K-3 fits the bill rather well there. Because Pentax have such a narrow range they put more "hooks" in their bodies, we just need users of the other brands to notice

I think a big glossy included with Amateur Photographer recently is likely to be much more effective than a stand at a trade show barely anyone goes to (in comparison)!

We felt that every year it went a bit further downhill. Hopefully the new exhibition will start to grow again.

If we're really clever we could all sell up our Pentax gear now and close the forum before Doomsday arrives

Perhaps we could set up a stand at London Imaging Live to get rid of it all...but then there'd be a Pentax presence...scrap that thought then

I agree with John though - Focus ended up being a pretty drab and increasingly pointless affair; I certainly wouldn't have gone again and don't think a lack of presence at these kind of shows is much to worry about. The fact that the March show has been postponed and is pencilled in for October perhaps suggests that bigger players than Ricoh were also lukewarm in their support.

Good idea, what we need to do is sell our Pentax gear off fast (and really cheaply) then we could all sit back smugly and watch as the forum falls apart.

You first as it's your suggestion (preferably with some nice FA* lenses please)

I will follow later (promise) .......

Ah - two different shows. The London Imaging Live was being marketed as the replacement to Focus, and was to take place in March but has now been postponed. This one in Birmingham is news to me. I see a few other bigger names have yet to join in too....Sony and Tamron for example.
