Well done to the winner and thanks for the judging!

Aperture was reported like that by the camera in the exif. I was using mirror-up mode, if that makes a difference. I have no idea why two apertures were given. I had set f11.

Congrats Glyn, well judged digitalCG, thanks, lacking in quantity but good ones in there. Mark, late to the party but well worth turning up.

Northgrain, you've captured some lovely light and given me something to aim for with the K-7.
Lurking is shirking.!

Oh gosh! I was not really expecting that. I had my money on mercox's beautiful ceiling.

Many thanks to Pete for coming up with an interesting subject open to a broad range of interpretations. While it was a bit disappointing to see so few entries I think it is just the time of year where people have other commitments.

Thanks also for your great set of thoughtful comments and, of course, your judging which I guess was probably quite difficult. So thank you for awarding my loft the winning slot .

Congratulations to Mark and Tim with whom I share the podium and everyone else for a great set of interpretations.

I will shortly put up a subject for the next round.

Well done Glyn, Mark and northgrain! A shame there weren't more entires, hopefully the number of entiies in this and the weekly comp will pck up again once all the kids are back at school!

My picture could not be taken with the ornate square centrally place as the area directly underneath it was roped off. I quite like it with the pillars on the side, though.

MarkTaylor – Inside the Outside: Not a serious entry perhaps, but a serious contender. The exaggerated and distorted wide perspective together with moody mono give a slightly detached, apocalyptic feel that leaves me a little unsettled, but in a good way. The expanse of grey to the right has some texture but is a touch overpowering - maybe remedied with a square crop?
Thanks for the comments! I'm really pleased for my image to have been so well received. By 'not a serious entry' I didn't mean to minimise it, I just meant I came to the competition late and didn't have time to take a variety of shots and choose between them as I would normally do. With the theme in mind I saw this opportunity when I literally had 2 minutes to spare and just took the shot.

I was also surprised there were so few entries.

Congratualtions to Glyn M and looking forward to your challenge.

Thanks to Digital CC for your critique. I'm not sure I fully understand it yet, but I will.

I have to comment I was most impressed by the entries of Aliengrove, Northgrain and Mecrox - I like the spendour.

Well done to GlynM for getting a new topic up so quickly. As for my feedback, it's all intended to be constructive! Agreed that the grand interiors were all decent shots but in that kind of location it's easier to take a decent pic than in more conventional surrounds, so I tried to take that into account.

Congrats Glyn, always nice to see how Hipperty's getting on.

Thanks for the comp DCG, I must admit that wasn't shot with the comp in mind, but I didn't have much to fit the bill.

Well done GlynM - have to admit this was my favourite of the batch as well!

Big thanks also to DigitalCG for the topic and judging - I'm absolutely sure the summer's having an impact on the number of entries to the comps, but really enjoyed the entries to this one.
