I've noticed this phrase a few times in relation to firmware updates. Does anyone know what sort of stability we're talking about?

I think it's geek speak for "we've stopped it crashing/locking up/generally being a pain".

You know that time when you're not pushing the equipment to any limits and it just locks up, well it might not do that anymore with this new firmware...

No, I've never had a camera of any make lock up. Can't tell you why, that's just the way it's been.

As a firmware developer, it sounds like techno-speak for "We goofed up and there's a bug that can rear its ugly head, but it's too complicated to explain exactly when and how"
(or too embarrassing )
