Early Autumn

My daughter wanted to take some shots for a photography competition in school, so it gave me the kick up the rear to get out of bed early. We concentrated on her shots, but I managed to get a few myself.
These are the ones I'm happiest with.
C&C welcome as always.

I particularly like the first one, I think it would be great in B&W..... Do you mind me trying?

Flattery will get you everywhere! Unfortunately, she (apparently) already knows everything and doesn't need to listen to me

She came runner up in a national competition a few years back using a £20 child's compact (Vivitar) from Argos! So she could be in with a chance.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

Number one for me. How about just cropping or toning down the fringing top right

I was thinking the same thing

Nice shots Ted
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

I was wondering what to do with that area. I didn't want to crop as I'd lose too much off the right, or, if I cropped the top, I'd lose where the rays start to converge.

How would I tone it down a little?

First one I used the Spot healing tool in Elements9

Second is a crop. I'm not sure that you have lost that much of the beams.

No need, it was just an idea and I have had a quick try:

Hmm. plenty to think about there.
Not sure the BW works for me, but hey! That's just my opinion! Thanks for doing it anyway

Yes, the crop doesn't do as much "damage" as I'd have expected. I should have tried instead of assuming!

Excellent light and location Ted. You've made a very good job of photographing it. I hope your daughter is successful.
Barrie's crop works well and despite your reservations I think
the black and white conversion by Giofi is very effective.

No problem! you know, I am a B&W fan, or maybe nostalgic as that is what I started with..... So when I see a nice picture I always think how it would look in B&W

The main thing is that your shot is really very nice
