The latest version is v9 and the compatible equipment is listed here (k-3 is supported). Could find anything lists the older versions compatibility though.

Thanks, just searched on Google and it looks like there are some issues with Pentax cameras and DNG formats. Just have to stick with Silkypics that came with the camera for a bit longer or have a look at GIMP!

There's no issues, it's just that the K3 is not supported on the older versions. Download the trial version of V9 here link and you'll find it works fine.
Also, you don't need the Elite version for any Pentax cameras, it for full-frame cameras , otherwise it's exactly the same.
