Dug out the R72

seemed daft not to wth all this sun, just had to re learn setting profiles and white balances.

Im glad you did, That 2nd shot is a cracker, looks ripe for a mono conversion, with the deep blacks and highlights id imagine it would be savage, perfect reflections.

Lovely. I have a preference for #3 and would love to see it in monochrome .

All good...my preference is No.3.

I take it '72' refers to 720nm?

here they are in black and white, in all honesty i think the only one that works is the Church which was shot with the intention of converting as i could see it in my minds eye but i do find great difficulty in seeing any landscape type image in B&W, unless it is a lone tree

The B&W versions for me, all are great shots.
It seems very unusual to have the tower left with the church it's far more common for the tower to be removed as unsafe.

Mike , i drove past that when working loads of times in 25 years or so and never realised that it was not a complete Church until about 3yrs ago when i went to photograph it as part of a village Church project i was doing. have been reading again and it seems it was left to rot from mid 1500's until being re built in 1849 then demolished in 1952 when bottom stones of the walls, the Porch and Tower were left. did not have a wide enough lens to get the Porch in shot. the info today is slightly different from what i had previously, just shows you can,t trust all you see on the net. cannot find a reason for demolition, there is another Church (St Andrews) near to the Manor which is now the village Church so can only assume lack of use.

I'm fine with both versions, but I do have a preference for the monos (especially the church and the empty canal). Then again, I'm a real sucker for monochrome'd IR.
