This pretty cottage is in a lovely setting by Frensham Little Pond in Surrey.

I snapped this today with the DA* 60-250 and K10D

i love the texture of the reeds in the foreground. it almost looks as if the cottage is being swallowed by the vegetation. lovely shot

did you see the purple heron when you were there? there was one (possibly the same one) at barnes wetland centre on saturday and it caused quite a commotion with the birders.

Laurence

We saw one heron, very briefly then it was gone. Didn't have a chance to grab a picture. I do not know if it was a purple one or not.

Hi Peter

the purple heron is brown, just to confuse you! quite distinctive from a regular grey one. i got a glimpse of it on saturday and it likes to hide in the reeds and blend in. you'd have probably been trampled by birders if you were anywhere near the purple one.

i must head to Frensham and see this magical cottage.
