Have seen a DSTE battery grip for a K3 advertised on Amazon for around £30.
Does anyone have experience of this grip? The Pentax branded is around £140.

See my post in troubleshooting...I bought one and in general use it is fine but using Bulb mode for long night exposures have came on an issue that the image preview freezes until I physically remove the grip...
Cheers,

I brought one to see if I liked the idea of using a grip but without the cost of the Pentax version. As Bruce says it works fine though I have not used bulb mode. I don't think it's as solid or weather proof like the original but its quite well made, works well generally and good for the price.

I'm using the DSTE branded one on my K5IIs without any issues. There is a proper rubber seal around the electronic connections which seems to work well.
The feel of the controls (especially the on/off button and front wheel) isn't as good as the camera itself and the symbols and text are starting to fade/disappear after 5000 actuation's.

The one I had on my K3 was great, sold it on to someone from this forum and they were equally impressed, it works and you could buy a plastic fantastic fifty with the change.. If you wanted to that is!
Cheers Jules...

Bought it at weekend and seems to be fine.
It has a robust feel to it and will use the price difference on some other gear!!

Did you buy the one with the extra battery as well?
All the best
