Drop Down Menu Problem

OK, this has been driving my nuts since changing to Windows 7.

The scroll menus is Adobe software have no scroll bar, only an arrow at the top and at the bottom of the menu. If I want to change a font it takes a long time to scroll through all the fonts or presets that I have. I can type if I know exactly what I am looking for but sometimes I want to have a quick look through.

Any idea if it is possible to change is for a normal drop down box that can be scrolled easily?

It's unlikely. Silly selection boxes have been a feature of
Windows since day 1 Earlier versions of Windows
had a similar box for file associations, but at least they let
you chose an association easily

Unless this is something Adobe have added and there's a way
to change the skin?

I'm thinking hard but i don't know which menu you mean... I just have the scroll bars in the windows windows.

It may be hard to see as it has been made smaller by photobucket.

The only way to scroll is with the upper and lower arrows and that is slow and cumbersome especially as there are hundreds of fonts AND they are not all in alphabetical order! (which is why it looks like a shorter list than it really is)

Photoshop CS5 font drop down has scroll bars.

Which particular piece of software are you referring to?

Have you tried using the scroll wheel on your mouse?

Photoshop Elements also has scroll bars. No idea about Lightroom. You can't blame it on Windows 7 methinks.

Edit - you can probably alphabetise your fonts by going to the appropriate file in Windows.

It is Photoshop Elements 9, Premiere Elements 9 and Lightroom 3.4. Only Adobe's software seems to have this silly style of menu

The fonts are alphabetically sorted in the windows fonts folder, Adobe's software seems to read it out of order though.

Very odd. As I said in my PSE 9 I have normal menus with a scroll bar for the fonts, and everything else which needs one.

They are also listed alphabetically - though I haven't added any new ones I must admit, since I hardly ever use text.

In CS5 i don't believe i've that... but any way i simply use the arrow keys to go through the fonts.

PS CS5 x64 has scroll bars in font selection drop down.
Premiere Elements 8 does not have them, neither does Lightroom 3.4

Yes it's inside the CS5 shell, you might be able to change the settings in the preference menu maybe?
