I read in the K10D instructions about ordering prints using the DPOF settings--- it seems as I understand you can mark the ones to print on the card, take the card to a lab and it will only print those ones -- well, I asked several places here in Brentwood and nobody knew anything about DPOF - said they had not heard of it and their machines wouldn't use it -- does anyone on this site ever use it ?

I don't but my Dad does; he doesn't own a computer but he does have a digicam and an Epson printer that takes memory cards. By setting the DPOF checks against the pictures he wants to print, he can just put the memory card in the printer, stick the paper in and press "go" without having to set anything else up.

Perhaps it's just a home-printing feature but I must admit I was under the impression that any high street printer could read DPOF tags too...

Kodak self service print machines can read them too. At least here in NL they can. Not sure that a lab can do though - they use different technology.
