Downloading pix for Gallery

Not sure why this has happened, I've never had this issue in 3 years of downloading images. The image data must think it is oriented as a landscape image, the way to fix this is to load it into an image processing program (any will do), rotate it and re-save it. When you upload it should the be oriented correctly.

How very odd. Never experienced this and can't imagine how it happened. I assume it was processed and saved first.

The picture is of a bee on a fuchsia flower. My query is: if the pic is correctly oriented in my files, why did it download in landscape format? and is there a way to correct this anomaly.
