Double Camera Straps

Just taken delivery of a Sun Sniper Double Plus-Harness.

I was fed up with two cameras on their normal straps with one sliding off my shoulders whilst using the other camera.

Not cheap but neither are the lumps on the end of the straps.

Best regards

It's a good idea.

The clip-art advert models are funny though ..

I have the Chinese single version of this (and it is/was going to be in that package I mentioned a while back) ..... much cheaper and virtually identical. The double version has just arrived in the office too ... I'll pick that up today, both knock-offs of Black Rapids methinks, Whatever make you have they do a brilliant job.

In best Otto voice:

"You know those camera straps, that are like, double camera straps, you know?"

Apologies for the obscure Simpsons reference.
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

Are those chaps sure they have enough cameras each? I feel daft with a digital body in hand and a film one stuffed in a pocket, let alone as many as they have!

Saw a couple of Germans with them on my trip - one had a single strap, the other the triple - and three Canons attached to it .

PU could order some embroidered versions for it's members .

My bugbear with all those straps is you can't use them with a tripod QR plate in place. Black rapid told me they were bringing out a range which were compatible with different types of QR, but no sign so far.

I have the OpTech version, but that relies on the strap attachment, and I have heard of those failing so am reluctant to use it - luckily I got it cheap at Photokina.

I'm not sure I like the idea of dangling my camera from a single mount. Can't help thinking they should try and utilise the existing mounts somehow?

got a cheap ebay one, had it for a year and have 2 cams on it with lenses worth £5500 and never had any probs, also can be split and used as a single strap.

The OpTech version uses one of the strap mounts. With a bit of jiggling you could probably use both for it, but it wouldn't be as good. The fact that the mount on the Sun Sniper and the like screws into the tripod screw on the body should make them a bit more secure. I have heard of the strap mounts failing - never heard of one of the ones that screws into the body failing.

It seems a very comfortable way to carry the camera, but as I said if you have a QR plate attached you can't use one of those straps.

I now have a BlackRapid women's strap - used last week for the first time and I found it very very comfortable.

Forgive the Americanisation but the thing really does work
