I think these are really good Paul, the pans are very crisp and sharp, everything is well composed and well exposed. I'm a little surprised no-one else has commented?

Its a quiet night on the forum it seems David But I agree with you, great car action here, very crisp indeed, and all tightly framed. I like the illustrious lineup in the final image as well, good to see a few faces behind the lenses. Excellent work pj!

Excellent images, well done. What makes you think you need to use a wider angle lens? Were you shooting at 150mm mostly?
I can get much closer to the action for my motorsport images (oval track) and I use a Sigma 70-200mm mostly, by far the majority are taken in the 70-100mm range.

#7 is b y far the best image for me. Such a shame about the blurred Saturn V model rocket and green thing.

Very nice, The panning shots look very sharp. I was there Sunday as well as Saturday, will get round to posting some pics soon. I like No 6 and 4 best.

Certainly an excellent set.
The 150-500 is great for motorsport but I found out at Brands that a wider option is worth having with you too! Your 70-300 might suffice, but even the 17-50 could prove useful.
I find it hard to find anything to critise on these, I like the Saturn V (especially the chimp behind it) though the green thing is a little distracting. I do find the Dunlop sign peaking out at the back of Giovanardi's car a minor annoyance (it's barely noticable in the Ginetta shot).
The 3/4 shots are very impressive I've never managed to pan sucessfully with something like that.

Cheers for the feedback guys. Saturn V rocket lol, love it. I remember just looking away from the racing for a second and thinking, how many people with cameras?!?! Next time I'll be looking at getting different angles. My 70-300 sigma seems dead, the AF packs in now and again, unreliable so I don't use it. Would like a 70-200 if the bank account allows it
Pentax K5ii / Tammy 17-50 / Pentax-F 50 1.7 / Siggy 70-300 / Siggy 150-500 / and my favourite Pentax-A 70-210.
