Don't step on that Patent!
Matt
(For gallery, tips and links)
Don't worry, it only covers usage with an 85mm lens, ISO320 and f 5.6!
Haha. Good spot. Now don't disturb me cos I'm busy writing patent apps for all the other combinations.
Sometimes I'm serious and sometimes not, but I consider sarcasm an artform. Which is it today?
Should we be worried?
No

I can't think of any obvious reason.
It's very, very weird and it makes me wonder why Amazon would pay good money to pursue such a patent.
I can't think of any obvious reason.
The suggestion made elsewhere is that Amazon is attempting to protect its “secret sauce” for creating product photographs in front of a seamless background, possibly in order to prevent competitors’ photographs from looking 100% identical in terms of lighting.
That is at least plausible, and ties in with what we know of Amazon's almost Darwinian pursuit of competitive advantage.

The last thing I would do is adopt a whiney accent and move to America.

I don't know about the spray-on cheese, but we have the 'football that doesn't use feet much'. We call it rugby and even have two variations
I shouldn't comment really as I am a union fan (Scarlets) and not mentioning league in union they often seem to kick to often but that said I am a fan not a player - my Dad who was a union player in the 60's agrees - woo hoo - common ground
