Interesting. The right half works for me, the left half doesn't. I think it's because the water flowing over the rock is heading out of the picture rather than into it and is partly hidden.

You weren't wading in the freezing water to take the shot, were you??

Thanks all, some wet toes did take place getting this shot. I'd only taken my wellies off in favour of trainers to drive in when I stopped and saw this waterfall, opting to smash and grab it and not welly up. I have a few other 'bigger' compositions of the whole space that I haven't processed yet.
Compositionally it was tricky as I couldn't go slightly wider as it started to introduce elements that drew the eye, as the left and right sides are currently reasonably clean. Also that top still bothers me slightly, I'm in 2 minds if I want to clone some snow into the top, or just leave it.

I tried framing up either the left or right side but both did nothing for me and I settled on this as I liked the way its all off centre but there are matching 'V' points on either side of the frame, that to me offer balance overall.

L.O.T, no, that's no boolax, our brains make connections with colour and with blue we think of cold, so a blue hue to the ice really reinforces that.

Kevin, I think the car was reading -1 or something like that when I got back to it. Glad the van has a rest heater as it was instant warmth to my wet toes!
